Volunteer Information
Event Description:
During produce bagging, volunteers will assist with sorting and re-packing a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables into grocery bags for families to pick up and take home later that day.
Volunteer duties may include:
Sorting through produce to identify and discard spoiled items.
Placing fruits and vegetables into CalFresh Healthy Living grocery bags.
Breaking down boxes and cleaning tables during and after the bagging process.
Adding handouts or stickers to CalFresh grocery bags.
Providing a warm, welcoming, and fun environment for families during distribution events.
Tracking and checking in families during distribution events.
Important Notes:
Please sign in at the school front office and then proceed directly to the CalFresh produce bagging location.
Wear comfortable clothes that can get dirty and sturdy, closed-toe shoes.
Produce bagging may take place outside under canopies depending on the school site.
In order to protect yourself, the CalFresh Healthy Living team, and the families we serve, please do not volunteer if:
You have experienced any of the following symptoms in the past 48 hours beyond your daily health baseline or above and beyond pre-existing conditions:
Cough
Congestion or Runny Nose
Chills
Headache
Muscle Pain
Sore Throat
Loss of Taste or Smell
Digestive Problems
Shortness of Breath
Fatigue
Nausea or Vomiting
Your temperature is above 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit.
In the past 24 hours, you've been in contact with anyone who has: (1) tested positive for COVID-19; (2) COVID-19 like symptoms; or (3) been tested and is waiting for results.
You have been tested for COVID-19 because you are symptomatic and are waiting for results and/or have been told to quarantine.
