About this initiative.

We hold produce distribution events at Cerritos Elementary, Columbus Elementary, Jefferson Elementary, Mann Elementary, Marshall Elementary, and Roosevelt Middle School. At these events, we provide free fresh fruits and vegetables, along with healthy recipe cards, cookbooks, and other nutrition resources to school families and the community.

The produce we distribute is provided by our CalFresh Healthy Living produce distribution partner, Seeds of Hope. They receive fruit and vegetable donations from farmers and other food recovery organizations.

During the 2021-2022 School Year, we distributed 58,138 pounds of fresh produce to nearly 5,000 households.
